What we record when you use our websites, and how to turn it off.
Teiken Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Cape Town. Last updated 19 October 2026.
What do we record?
When you visit www.teiken.co or app.teiken.co, we record how you use the site: the pages you open, what you click, how you move through a page, and what you type into its forms, including text you delete before sending. We also record your browser, your device and roughly where you are, worked out from your internet address. We can replay a visit to see how the site was used.
We never record passwords, or the sign-in code we email to founders.
Why?
To see how people use our websites, and to fix what gets in their way. South Africa's privacy law (the Protection of Personal Information Act, POPIA) allows this as a legitimate interest, as long as we tell you about it and you can say no. This page is us telling you. The switch below is how you say no.
Who holds it?
PostHog, the analytics service we use, stores it for us on servers in the European Union. On the way there it passes through Cloudflare, which PostHog uses to receive it at t.teiken.co. Recordings of visits are deleted after 30 days. We do not sell any of it, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
What about what you send us?
If you write to us, leave a voice note or book a meeting, we keep what you send — your name, email address, phone number and message — so we can reply and arrange to meet. A booked meeting is sent to you as a Google Calendar invitation.
Can I see it, change it or have it deleted?
Yes. Email hello@teiken.co and we will tell you what we hold, correct it or delete it. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
How do I turn analytics off?
Press the button below. From then on nothing about your visits to www.teiken.co is recorded in this browser. On app.teiken.co, use the switch at the bottom of its pages. It applies to the browser you press it in, so do it again on another device.
